Junior Golf

The members of Springdale Golf Club encourage junior members to play golf.  The Professional Staff operates a Junior Golf Program throughout the season.  In recent years, the Junior Program has contained three specific parts.

  • Summer Program – Starting the last week in June and through July, once schools have let out for the summer, we engage in a camp program for our junior golfers. There are two programs, Little Linksters (9 and under) and Junior Tour (10 and above). Each program runs three days of the week and teaches the whole child as we follow up on subjects such as etiquette, rules and clubhouse behavior. In recent years we have used a curriculum called Operation 36. Their in-depth approach has taken our program to new levels of success (https://operation36.golf/).
  • Fall Ball – The last segment of the year starts in late August and runs two days a week. One weekday afternoon following school and then one weekend afternoon. The weekday classes are Operation 36 academies and focus on skill development. Weekends are completely on course and put those skills to the test. This program runs until the first week in October.
  • PGA Junior League – Springdale has supported a team since the program’s national inception. Junior golfers 13 and under can participate in a fun match play format playing against local clubs. Team participation also includes weekly practices. Matches are played home and away and kids will receive team jerseys as part of their experience. The match schedule runs from mid-May until late June. To learn more about what the PGA Junior League is, please refer to the following website: https://www.pgajrleague.com/

Junior golfers are encouraged to use the practice range and golf course within the guidelines for member play.  Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult while using the practice areas or golf course unless certified by the Professional Staff.  Springdale has a wonderful family tee course set up to allow younger players an opportunity to play.  The family tee scorecard can be picked up in the Professional Shop.
